My wife was mugged into responding to this. I immediately saw the problem and text'd STOP to the number but they still keep extracting money from the account. Now going to try my provider by banning all premium rate texts to her number and then going to Ofcom to try and get them banned and my money back.
I made payment to these people too, for advertising in an upcoming event brochure of almost ?230, (I stupidly paid twice, as they rang back the next day and said the payment hadn t gone through, I did actually check with my bank, and there was nothing showing as having gone through the day before, but it did appear within a few days]. Automated scammers wanting your credit card number. They have lists of names and mobile phone numbers mainly form Orange (stolen??). They pretend to be be either of the following Lloyds, Barclays and Natwest then all refernce to the bank's name is dropped. The land line remains as 01132230180 It is a poor copy of Lloyds bank's automated answering system.
