Automated phone call telling me that there was unusual internet activity on my internet connection and I was about to be disconnected. To Press 1 to speak to an advisor, This comes on a day when my internet provider had informed me that they would be doing service upgrades in the area.

Asian accented guy called claimed to be from Virgin Media. Problem with my internet connection. Press the Windows key and type in certain things he'd show me and then fix it. I strung him along for a while. Supervisor tried the same. When I refused he said my internet connection would be switched off. I enjoyed our chat as while he was talking to me he couldn't be trying to con anyone else. He told me to f*** off. That confirmed he wasn't from Virgin as they don't usually end calls like that!

Scam from asian sounding male suposedly working for Virgin Media and claiming that my router was faulty. After getting me to jump through some hoops, told me that I would be getting a new router and £204.56 in compensation. Call from a lady trying to get £249 out of me for an anti bullying campaign I had allegedly signed up to last year. She was very convincing and said I'd receive a thank you pack and what school would I like the bullying pack to be sent to. I told her I had no recollection of ever agreeing to sponsor such a thing. Asked me if i used tv shopping channels.Then asked if I had bought anything in the last 6 months from qvc.Or he may have said bid tv,but thought it was qvc although research leads me to believe the same people regularly say its from bidtv. I think the caller can make money off people trying to call back? although i dont know. It could just be aggressive advertizing.

SCAM. Fraud. DO NOT PICK UP when you receive a call from this number. They will say they are from Monzo bank and will try to scam you. The number is very similar to the genuine Monzo bank contact number. There is only a difference of the last 2-digits of the phone number. They will trick you into believing that your account is not safe and needs to upgrade the security of your Monzo account, asking to transfer your money into a 'safe account' they provide.

If you answer them tell them you want their registered address so you can bill them ?10 per minute, that ll get rid of them, but if the do recall then send them a invoice sent as tracked, and they have to pay you if you pursue to a small debt court.
