Someone claiming to be from "Tenancy Deposit Helpline" asking if we have a private tenancy deposit. Asked where they got our details from, they said from the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, I said surely they'd know if we had a private deposit if that was where they got out details. He hung up.

I phoned their number while withholding my own number and they have their number set up not to accept withheld numbers. I answered a call from this number at 2.19pm today and I could not understand what the man on the phone was saying. When I said, Sorry as in I didn't understand and wanted him to repeat what he said, he just hung up. I'm guessing it was some sort of SPAM phone call.

SCAM Fortunately, I have TruCaller home phone so pushed it straight to the "waiting" queue and as they didn't leave a message or say who was calling did not route through to the actaual phone ring. I already had this number blocked on my Mobile and in Malwarebytes as it claimed to be from BT saying there was a problem with my broadband... when I mentioned that I worked for BT as a fault engineer they immediately hung up :)
No idea who these people are, they called me on my mobile and asked for a man I ve never heard of.. I cut them off immediately afterwards because I didn t want to be charged in case it was an expensive number.

On returning this call it was an automated response saying that as my phone contract was due to expire shortly they could offer info. on new handsets etc. Press 1 to remove from their database, 2 to speak to someone. On entering 1 you are requested to enter your no. then the hash tag. Upon doing this the line went dead. Hopefully I won t now start receiveing lots of Spam!
