Scam. Claims to be from HSBC trying to warn me about an unauthorised payee request. Honestly, as if times aren't hard enough without these scum bags trying to steal from working people. .Harassing Cold call . Trying to sell roof insulation. Do I buy from harassing cold callers??? Nope! Knew our name and address. Asked him where he got details - said from database but could not say what. Told him should at the minimum his company should be vetting against telephone preference service. This is a computer scam. I played along in order to waste their time and to get insight into their methods. There is a warm-up act and a main act to follow. Their first tactic is to say they will cut off your computer unless you cooperate. They take you to Event Viewer administrative events in order to show you a scary page with yellow warning triangles and red error messages. Then to another caller for their main strike. They have a complete spurious way of showing your apparent computer |ID which they can

I have recently received a call from "HMRC". The computer informed me that a tax fraud case had been opened up in my name. I was then passed through to an operator who refused to provide any credentials and seemed to get rather aggressive.
