I did not reach the phone before my machine kicked in but as soon as my message started the phone call was ended. I do not know anyone in this area but I do know that the scammers are now able to link on to UK landlines to fool you into thinking it is from a UK number. Yesterday I had a similar call from a number about 15 miles from home but when I picked it up there was the usual call centre pause. When I tried ringing back there was no reply.

Found a new way to stop calling me. Don t speak english if you pickup you r phone by mistake. After a few calls they will STOP, as they can t sell anything to someone they din;t understand.

Disgusting told Me they would give me a loan. Sounded legitimate told me to pay installment upfront of £185 which I stupidly did. Then I canceled after they started asking for more money. I've asked for a refund and for 4 days now he's told me it will go in my bank. Still no money. Do not believe them I've lying scumbags hope they get caught out for fraud!! My husband had this message last night and thought I hadn't been paying the mortgage so a fraught 10 minutes which nearly ended in a row!!! I called the number from a landline and got no response so googled the problem on line and came up with these responses. So very worrying as I knew nothing was amiss. It came up as a +44 7093091089 number. Disgusting!
