Called on Saturday morning by someone with an Indian asian accent tel no 0808 1450360. He claimed to be from Halifax bank and said that the bank needed me to discuss serious matters concerning my account... Caller claimed to be from BT Openreach calling about poor internet speed - sounded like an Indian call centre. I was wary but we have been having poor speed so I carried on. They asked me to do a speed test on out internet using a site I have used before. They said the speed figures were very low. They wanted me to download software so they could connect to my PC which I didn't do. When I started to challenge them to prove who they were they hung up. I suspect this is a scam call.

This number rang our landline and asked for my husband by his first name only. Once speaking to him the male caller (African type accent) claimed to be from Sky and started asking questions - my husband's surname, security password, mother's maiden name etc. Unfortunately for him, my husband was not the easy touch he was obviously expected to be and the caller got no information out of him!
