Had a call today at 12.31 from this number, with a particularly nasty scam. He told me his name was "Peter" (though his accent was asian) and that he was from the "computer licensing department". He informed me that my computer has been running from two IP addresses and that it would be shut down if I didn t act. Stating they are the credit investigation department, a UK government department. When questioned further, the caller revealed they were an independent company doing promotional calls.

Lloyds Group, complaints handlers include Bank Of Scotland and Halifax. They can search surname to find out which person called you or if you are expecting a call you can you use a pin they set up with you, not your card pin, but a complaint pin.

Call came approx. 3 hours after one from 01247 896583 which research suggested SCAM was from people purporting to be from BT.01495 No was a pattern so I picked up and blew my trusted whistle down the phone. Magic! They won t ring again.

09 Dec 2021 - Has called 3 days in a row, not sure if its robotic or a person but after I say hello there is silence and they put the phone down. I suspect they are testing numbers to see who answers then possibly sell this data on to other spam callers. Don't bother answering, block number if you can. Reply
