Picked up, the line was silent and then started ringing as though I had called the number (I get the feeling this is a reverse charges scam) Someone picked up on the other end after 1 ring said my name then hung up. Number is being blocked - be careful!

Just had this number call - but I never pick up the phone. Worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. My advice, which works a treat: tell all your real contacts to call you for the first 4 or 5 beeps, then to put the phone down. Caller had my name, postcode, an email address. Claimed a competition win and 10 free euro millions tickets. Wanted bank info and £39 monthly. Guaranteed to win! Confused about who they represented. Online search has no winners only reports of a scam.

Informed that i had been involve d in a car accident, when i stated that this was not so she put the phone down, she had stated that she was phoning from a company but because of her acsent i did not get the name. On returning the call i am informed that it is not a recognisable number.

if you google this number it only links to being a number that people call, not that they call from this number.

Irrelevant whether you give your number out, as these people just use auto diallers, which take no account of ex directory, TPS etc status.

Rude Asian man telling me about a problem with my computer. His supervisor called me back and asked why I had been rude to his staff. I told him that he was rude by saying that he would put a block on my computer and I would have to pay to get it working again. The 3rd call was just shouting at me in a foreign language. Calls 4 and 5 were silent but I could hear the same people in the background.

Male caller rang from this number at lunchtime today. A bit of a waffle introduction, but eventually got round to the subject - an invitation to a free financial seminar (apparently people are really interested in it because of low interest rates). But he declined any request to put his information pack in the post to me. Pretty sure its a scam that should be avoided.
