SPAM scam An Indian woman called in the morning,dad answered they said his surname and that they were from virgin,calling about his internet is fluctuating and that they will do a test to see what the problem is,dad gave me the phone to deal with her so I said to her to call back later.She called me late afternoon when I asked her where she was calling from she said talk talk and I said we weren’t with them when I said how would she know if something was wrong with my internet she hung up.

SCAM This is a call centre saying it is a courtesy call due to an appliances warrantee expiring, on this instance it was a washing machine, so quite believable. They wanted £65 per year for another 3 years full cover. It sounded very genuine until she said that she wanted me to tell her the name and make of my appliance and i said that i was ok and didn't want to renew the warrantee as i'd had it for over 5 years, then they just hung up and the line went dead. Robotic-sounding guy claimed to be responding to reported housing issues. Failed to answer questions (I couldn't hear who he said he was, asked twice, no clear answer), but put me through to speak to an Asian sounding bloke who also didn't respond to me when I asked how exactly were my housing issues reported to them if I cannot remember speaking to anyone other than my landlord. Said that they help tenants in council accommodation or housing association tenants, which I am not. Phishing scam.

It is not a valid number. London code is 020, next digit should be 3 or 7 or 8.

"Indian" accented male called on the 11th of August 2016 saying that I had a problem with my computer and that it had many errors that I didn t know about. When I explained that I was in IT he rudely told me to "Shut up madam", when I asked if that is what he said he confirmed and said goodbye.

Called early evening about a supposed accident that I d recently had. Of course I hadn t had such an accident so the call was bogus. I have Preference Service so the call was also illegal.
SCAM Asian sounding woman said she was from Virgin Media - they see problems with my broadband. I had the same call yesterday from a different number. They cannot prove they are from Virgin and try to get you to do the ASSOC command or similar so they can prove they know what they're doing.
