they call me at least twice a day from all different numbers but as yet I have not answered any of them as they are from a debt that was about ten years ago which is past the statute of limit

SCAM Recording of a lady with a pleasant voice told me that my phone and internet connection was to be cut off due to suspected criminal activity on my provider's service. Asked me to press button 1 to speak to someone. Didn't of course. Reported it to BT instead

Automated voice stating they where calling from HMRC and that there was a fraudulent case against me and if I did not press 1 immediately then a warrant would be issued and I would be arrested. Firstly HMRC will never call you and secondly I am still waiting for the police to show up at my door and arrest me for nothing. Utter nonsense. Don't be fooled by these calls people.

Male called and said I owed money on a NEWDAY credit card linked to my amazon account. I had taken the offer of getting a card via getting a 20% discount on an item but never activated the card. He reeled of items purchased for certain dates. Funny enough, all those payments had already come out of my own Visa card not theirs. Also, the only card visible for payments on my amazon account is my own. And the call was promptly ended.... BE AWARE AND DO NOT GET ROPED IN!!!

Had a liverpudlian girl called Lucy call me just from 01704222222, said she was calling from Alderley Assist, got the usual call centre spiel, had my name on file which I confirmed. Claimed to be from BT suggesting my internets had been hacked by outsiders. Offered to help me to stop these people from accessing my internets. Advised me to go to a web site to allow connection to my computer and to download software. I then told them i work in IT security whereupon the caller became very rude and hung up on me.

A man claimed he was from a company called "Speed" who rudely demand to know why I hadn t made a claim for the accident I d apparently been in. The last accident I d been involved in was a few years ago and upon hearing me start to explain this he hung up before I finished speaking. This is clearly a scam hoping to either get some personal details to allow them to commit identity fraud or to falsely extract money from me.
