My wife answered the phone, and an apparently recorded message said that there was a suspicious transaction involving a £300 bill from Amazon which had not been paid. Then she was asked to press some number at which point she ended the call. I found the callers number by using 1471. The call appears to be a scam.

when answered they used my name, but I asked what the call was about and they hung up. I rang them and asked what they wanted and was told that it was nothing to do with them.

Looks a genuine mobile number but when answered it sounded like an automated voice telling me problems with HM C & E, knowing that they would never phone direct so just put the phone down, Guessing it will be some kind of scam to get details from you.

Called me claiming to be from Sky, informing me that malicious individuals are trying to hack my router. I played dumb and allowed them to get to the part where they wanted me to install TeamViewer to gain access to my computer. I gave them an earful about preying on vulnerable people, but it will have had zero effect; I just hope I cost them more money in call charges than they were expecting.
