Spam caller claiming to be from Vodafone (my mobile contract isn't with Vodafone), wanting my bank details so they could apply a discount to my contract. Very persistent - when I told them I didn't know my postcode they called back the following night. Even provided me with a (mobile!) number I could call to check that they really were Vodafone.

They left no message and, when I called them back it's just "The number you are calling has not been recognised" .. so there we have it, pilgrims .. a virtual guarantee that this is surely, just one of) the SCAMMERS LATEST 'phone numbers - Beware!!

Had a call from a Leeds number. They said they were from Asset Claim Ltd and gave me their address, which I looked up online and there is a Asset Claim Ltd..BUT...the guy had my name and address inc postcode and said I was getting some PPI back and asked for my date of birth. I said I was not giving out my personal details and he started to get slightly irate. I also said I would not be giving out any bank details and he said I'm not asking for bank details, I need your date of birth. He cut me off. SCAM!

SCAM This organisation is impersonating NCA (National Crime Agency). Scenario: Someone used my identity at the Wales border so they needed to check with me my personals details otherwise my NIN bank account etc will be freeze by them. Apparently, according to recorded voice, the National Crime Agency are going to suspend my National Insurance number and arrest me. This is unlikely. This is the only one of 4 unknown calls from Vodafone numbers I have answered in the last couple of days but suspect all of the same ilk.

Silent call, I think the scam is for you to call them back at inflated call costs to call the number. No one ever answers you after you pick up but you can hear that there is some one on the other end of the line as they initially say hello. Deffo a scam!!!

Caller who sounded Indian said she was from the telephone preference service and calling to say it had expired as - she was just getting to this - the bank card used had expired. She first asked how the telephone bill was paid. As the service is free I rang off.
