02 Nov 2021 - An Indian guy rang my mobile from this number, knew my name. 02083752068, automated threat to turn off my BT phone and Internet service citing suspicious activity. I did press "1" as requested, exchanged a couple of " Hellos" and she hung up. So... Really poor service from BT? I think not.
I answered this but no response. When I put the phone(mobile down the phone wouldn t work at all. Completely froze. It wouldn t shut down, reboot. Phone completely inoperable for about a minute. Very scarey, thought I had lost the whole contents. Be very careful. DO NOT ANSWER THIS NUMBER!!!

Was from a Gary Walker claiming to be from my insurance company. In actuality it was from The Cotswold Group who are Private Investigators for insurance companies. This nows seems to be standard practice when making a claim and another method for insurance companies to try and get out of reimbursing you. I have been told by an insurance company that they use a phone based lie detector, which is completely useless. Lie detectors are not admissible in court because their results are not consistent.

Left a message on my ansafone claiming to be from Sarah Wilson at HMRC and threatening legal action if I or my solicitor didn t call them back immediately! Called back and spoke to a male with an Asian accent who gave his name as Kevin. He eventually hung up when I insisted on speaking to Sarah Wilson. I called HMRC who confirmed this is not a genuine call from them!

SCAM Had a number of calls recently offering a new iPhone. I don't use or like Apple products so they are wasting their time. 2 calls yesterday from 01208 247201 - missed the 1st, but they rang again withing seconds. As suspected, another iPhone scam call. That block of numbers is owned by Franzcom Telecoms in Bodmin, Cornwall. Something needs to be done to prevent these foreign scammers spoofing UK telephone numbers.
Scam call about my internet router needing to be replaced. Was invited to press 1 to talk to them. I hung up. I know that my own internet provider would have announced their identity at the start of the call.
