02 Nov 2021 - An Indian guy rang my mobile from this number, knew my name. I asked where he was calling from but couldn’t understand what he said, put him on loudspeaker and asked again and no one in my office could understand what he said? I asked what it was regarding and he said the rent on my address and knew my address?? I said I don’t rent my house and he put the phone down on me??? Didn t answer the call and came here to check the number. Lots of these apparently foreign numbers are actually originating in the UK by using software diallers that mask the caller s true location.As other posters suggest, a good rule of thumb is - if the number looks suspicious it probably is.

This number called AM today, purporting to be a dept of BT, to discuss a line fault. I am not a BT subscriber!
