The caller uses a Merthyr Tydfil dialling code but on interrogation turns out to be a call centre in Liverpool. I explain I am a member of TPS and don t wont to be cold called. number called but they hung up, I called back and a recorded message said they were Energy Savings Review calling about a government backed scheme for solar systems! the message also gave a number to call to be taken off the list 08452863555 i called, see if i get any more calls from them. they have called several times in the last few weeks.

Fraud: Pretends to be from HSBC Bank sending a text that someone has been authorised to receive a payment from your account. However HSBC Bank (if you have an account with them) don't give out their numbers when they call or text their customers. Also HSBC don't use this form of security check ( text warnings to set up a new payment from your a/c). The objective is probably to defraud you of your money by gaining access to your bank account - or to use the link in the message to instigate a virus infection.
