Received a text message unexpectedly from this unknown number purporting to be from HSBC and saying that a payment had been attempted from an unknown device. I don't have an account with HSBC so possible scam/phishing attempt? Whole message as follows: "HSBC: A payment was attempted from a new device. Repeated calls from this same company with an automatic voice message saying it is a "government awareness call" and asking me to press 5 for an information pack or 9 to opt out. Pressing 5 takes me through to someone who hangs up on me immediately when I start asking about his company or asking for my number to be removed from their database.
SCAM ...No doubt. They called no answer on other line. Have blocked.
