After being scammed before are very wary of cold calls and scams. However, this one was picked up without really looking or thinking but I must say this seems a dangerous one because this did sound almost genuine with (as above, claiming to be HMRC). In our case, the line just went dead after it told us to press one to speak to an officer. This is one that could catch unexpecting people out so be careful! We keep it as rule that if in any doubt, ONLY answer numbers that are 0800 or gov numbers (030) unless

They said they were from Asset Claim Ltd and gave me their address, which I looked up online and there is a Asset Claim Ltd..BUT...the guy had my name and address inc postcode and said I was getting some PPI back and asked for my date of birth. I said I was not giving out my personal details and he started to get slightly irate. I can assure everyone it is Vodafone, it s a Rotherham code number 01709 , that is where the company Webhelp is based. Webhelp have a various of campaigns there, Vodafone being one of the best. I know this myself because I work there.. we only ask questions to do with your current account because we need you to confirm it, meaning we already now it. Still don t believe me?.. Look the number up on the Vodafone website instead of some lame little blog.
