Caller from this number stated that hmrc were giving back tax paid on ppi claims. I was due over £6000! Proceeded to ask me help to fill R40 form, my date of birth and then my national insurance number. At that point I asked her to send me the form as I didn't want to give my details. I think this could be a scam.
Don t very often speak to cold callers but did today and was told it was a government backed scheme to replace old windows with new at discounted prices. I told the guy I was not interested at the moment, he said if I had a quote now I could keep that quote until I needed to replace my existing windows. I agreed for somebody to come and measure the windows on condition they measured and left, he jokingly (I thought) told me they would not be staying for tea and biscuits. According to this number (recorded message) I am on their database as someone who has experienced an accident/medical negligence. As i never have, i can only conclude that this is cold calling and as i am TPS registered, this is illegal.
Caller claimed to be from Serif UK, the software company. They wanted to do a survey, and when I told them I don t do surveys over the phone, nor do I confirm details someone claims to have about me, they slipped up and said they wanted to do a survey about my household finances, not the sort of thing Serif does. I regularly speak to Serif on other matters and never had this kind of conversation with them. I reckon they were out on a Phishing trip, but they didn t get even a nibble from me.
