Called me on 26/9/2015 on mobile ,rang three times then went off.Checked internet this site and it said it was a hoax call and not to ring back.I ignored it .Thanks to this site who-called for good advice .

Don't know as said above, just a cold caller. Wasn't sure what they were calling about as was very bad line. Just old them if they were selling, I wasn't interested and hung up.

Calls my landline frequently, I have a policy of not answering the phone before the voicemail service and will only pick up if I recognise the caller. This is a foolproof method for avoiding telephone scams since no scammer ever leaves a message!

Hard to say if positive or negative, you decide, but this number serves for the call centre dealing with fundraising / non-profit orgs like Cancer Research, they will call mostly with donations... Sometimes they just call to say thank you which is nice. What was it in your case? They use the range of numbers 020347607xx, block the range if not interested. 01340 is a dialling code from Scotland - I don't know anybody in Scotland, and I was not at home when this call came through, but it's obviously somebody using a spoof...
